University Operations at UCF is seeking a Utilities Specialist II to install, test, calibrate, and maintain electric, chilled water, and heating hot water metering systems across campus.

The role is field-focused, working with utility, maintenance, and controls teams to ensure revenue-grade metering and accurate billing. The salary range is posted, and the final compensation depends on qualifications and equity considerations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience installing, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining utility metering systems.
• Knowledge of building automation and metering communications (BACnet, AMR/AMI).
• Ability to read engineering drawings and schematics for metering installations.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, calibrate, maintain, and repair metering systems.
• Troubleshoot meters, sensors, communications equipment, and AMR/AMI systems for accurate data.
• Analyze meter data to identify discrepancies and improve accuracy.
• Program and configure meters and BAS communications.
• Support field installations and coordination with contractors.
• Maintain documentation and calibration records.
