Job summary

University of Central Florida is seeking a Plumber II to support campus operations by maintaining and repairing plumbing systems across the main campus. The role requires advanced technical expertise to install, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing systems in compliance with national and state codes, while delivering responsive and customer-focused service.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, PM/PDM, repairs, backflow prevention, documentation, and collaboration with facilities teams.

Qualifications

• Licensed plumber in Florida with 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to identify and prevent system failures.
• Conduct PM repairs and corrective repairs to restore functionality.
• Install, maintain, test, and calibrate plumbing systems in water, gas, air, and sewer operations.
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, faucets, traps, pipes, water heaters, emergency showers, and related components.
• Diagnose and resolve sewage system issues using camera inspection equipment.
• Maintain backflow prevention systems and perform emergency repairs as needed.
• Complete work orders with documentation of labor, materials, and notes.
• Report safety concerns to supervisor.
• Assist other departments with routine and project work.
• Support capital projects and system upgrades.
• Coordinate utility shutdowns as required.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
