Job summary

Pasco County Utilities is seeking an entry-level Utilities Mechanical Specialist Trainee to learn inspection, installation, maintenance and repair of Pasco County owned water, wastewater, and reuse facilities. The role offers hands-on training and a defined career path as certifications and performance milestones are met.

You will assist with pumps, valves, meters, and test equipment, maintain CMMS and spreadsheet records, and perform routine maintenance and emergency repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid Florida driver's license and able to obtain CDL Class B permit within 30 days.
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds, work outdoors, and perform strenuous physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Assists in installations, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of water, wastewater and reuse systems.
• Operates and maintains pumps, valves, meters, and related equipment.
• Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities using CMMS and spreadsheets.
• Completes assigned daily work orders and performs routine preventive maintenance.
• Participates in emergency repair work and adheres to safety protocols.
