Job summary

Nestlé S.A. Batavia, OH is seeking an Utilities Maintenance Technician to perform proactive and reactive maintenance on mechanical utilities systems and equipment.

You will troubleshoot, repair and optimize critical utilities for manufacturing operations while coordinating with maintenance, engineering and production staff to keep assets running safely and efficiently. The role starts on a Monday–Friday 8 a.m.–4 p.m.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• License: High Pressure Boiler Operator or Stationary Engineer (Ohio).
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical utilities systems and equipment.
• Maintain compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and related systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to reduce failures.

As a Utilities Maintenance Technician, you will perform proactive and reactive maintenance on mechanical utilities systems and equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair and optimize utilities systems that provide the critical core of our manufacturing operations. Day to day, you will work cross-functionally with other maintenance, engineering and production personnel to solve problems and implement solutions quickly and safely to keep factory assets operating efficiently.

This position will initially work Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., and then transition into working 4, 10-hour days during training and orientation.Once 12 weeks of training and orientation are completed, theshift will transition to nights (6 p.m.-6 a.m.), operating on a 2-2-3 scheduleformat (week one: two days on, two days off, three days on; week two: two days off, two days on, three days off).

The starting pay for this position is $37.50/hr. with a strategic Maintenance Progression Plan that provides for increasing wages up to $41.78/hr., based on knowledge/skill demonstration, technical assessments and performance reviews. • Troubleshoot and optimize utilities systems and related mechanical and electrical equipment and components
• Monitor, maintain and repair compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, wastewater treatment, domestic water, hot water, refrigeration and fire systems
• Execute preventative maintenance (PM) activities to proactively prevent failures and promote safe and efficient operations
• Utilize diagrams and schematics, digital tools such as computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), mechanical and electrical tools, and diagnostic instruments (for vibration, thermal imaging, acoustics, etc.) to reduce unplanned stoppages through effective root cause analysis and corrective action
• Collaborate with team members to maintain equipment and solve technical problems
• Perform basic rigging, mechanical practices, pipefittingand welding skills in an industrial environment
• Model safety and share utilities expertise to train other team members

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical utilities systems and equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment
• Possession of a current High Pressure Boiler Operator License or Stationary Engineer License from the state of Ohio

• Must be willing to work 6:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 schedule
