Job summary

Nestlé USA is hiring a Maintenance Technician at our Medford manufacturing facility to keep high-speed packaging equipment running and to support production of familiar household pizza brands. The role requires troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and electrical/mechanical work.

Starting pay is $32.90 per hour with shift differentials, a $5,000 sign-on bonus, quarterly incentives, and comprehensive Nestlé benefits after 30 days, plus three weeks of paid time off in year one and 11 holidays.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • 2-year technical degree in maintenance or related field or Journeyman preferred.
  • 3 years' experience as Industrial Maintenance Mechanic OR 2-year degree with experience.
  • Experience with diagnostic troubleshooting and component replacement.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, repair, disassemble and troubleshoot complex packaging machinery and other equipment.
  • Read blueprints and diagrams to diagnose problems and verify operation.
  • Perform scheduled PMs and work orders in SAP CMMS.
  • Install new equipment as necessary.
  • Lead root cause analyses and TPM-driven improvements.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU:
  • Schedule:
    • 2nd shift: 2PM to 10PM (Monday through Friday)
    • 3rd shift: 10PM to 6AM (Monday through Friday)
  • Starting hourly pay of $32.90/hr
    • 2nd shift differential - $1.50/hr
    • 3rd shift differential - $3.00/hr

WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH:
  • Maintain, repair, disassemble and troubleshoot complex processes, high speed packaging machinery, and other manufacturing equipment
  • Repair and use of material handling equipment including manual pallet jacks, battery operated pallet jacks, stand up and sit-down trucks, scissors lifts, boom type man-lifts, & equipment / component hoists
  • Read and interpret blueprints, process and instrumentation diagrams, flow diagrams, and machinery manuals to diagnose problems, identify components, and verify proper equipment operation
  • Layout, plan, measure, and execute tasks to support maintenance efforts
  • Utilize power & hand tools properly and safely support work activities
  • Execute and electronically report scheduled PMs & work orders in SAP Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) within allocated windows and following written standards to maintain manufacturing equipment reliability
  • Installing new equipment as necessary
  • Clean tools, parts and equipment after line rebuilds/repairs/maintenance
  • Provide technical expertise to train and support production and create an environment of continuous learning
  • Actively participate/lead root cause analysis (BDA) and other site continuous improvement initiatives (TPM driven)
  • Develop and improve Maintenance plans
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Modify and upgrade manufacturing equipment as required
  • Perform strategic preventative maintenance
  • Continuous improvement of maintenance systems and practices
EDUCATION:
  • High school Diploma or GED is preferred
  • 2-year Technical Degree in Maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance or Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance, OR related area of study, OR Journeyman Certification is preferred
EXPERIENCE:
  • 3 Years of prior experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic OR
  • 2-year Technical Degree in Maintenance field such as Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance or related area of study
  • 1 year of prior experience as an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic
  • Experience must include diagnostic troubleshooting, repairing and replacing defective parts, adjusting machinery, and modifying units to meet proper operating specifications.

Pay:$32.90 per hour
