Job summary

Peter Boulware Toyota in Tallahassee, FL is seeking a qualified automotive technician to inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles to dealer standards. You will work on engines, transmissions, drivability, brakes, HVAC and related systems, collaborating with the service team to deliver safe, reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Demonstrates a great attitude and teamwork.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to identify problems quickly and accurately.
• Solid math, reading, and computer skills.
• Willingness to learn new technology and repair procedures.
• Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems to dealer standards.
• Perform vehicle inspections to identify necessary repairs.
• Inspect and test vehicles to determine repair needs.
• Communicate with Service Advisor about additional needed work and timings.
• Complete paperwork and documentation for repairs.
• Participate in ongoing training and education programs.
• Maintain a basic inventory of hand tools and support repairs under warranty.

SUMMARY

This person will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing and repairing customer vehicles in accordance with dealer standards. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to engine, transmission, drivability, cooling system, brake system, electronics, steering and suspension, HVAC.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, steering, suspension, brakes and air conditioning to required specifications


• Perform vehicle inspections to identify necessary repairs


• Inspect and test vehicles to determine necessary and applicable repair work


• Communicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provides an estimate of time needed for additional repairs


• Complete necessary paperwork and documentation for service repairs


• Participate inon-going company and manufacturing training and education programs, to stay current and abreast of hanging technology


• Provide and maintain a basic inventory of required hand tools


• Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
