Job summary

Subaru Buick Cadillac Lakeland, a leading family-owned dealership in Lakeland, FL, is seeking a Service Technician. The role involves identifying mechanical problems, testing parts and systems, and performing both basic and advanced maintenance on vehicles at our SBC Lakeland location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience as an automotive technician.
• Subaru experience preferred.
• ASE preferred but not required.
• Must be able to diagnose and repair vehicle systems to specification.
• Ability to access all areas of vehicles to diagnose problems.
• Knowledge of engine management including emission, fuel and ignition systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify mechanical problems, test parts and systems, and perform basic and advanced vehicle maintenance.
• Provide labor and time estimates for repairs.
• Explain diagnoses and required repairs to service advisors in non-technical terms.
• Disassemble and reassemble parts as needed.
• Use diagnostic equipment to locate issues and verify repairs.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Subaru experience preferred.
• ASE preferred but not required.
• Minimum 3+ yearsof experience as an automotive technician (automotive mechanic)
• Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
• Must be able to work all scheduled hours, including some Saturdays.
• Able to diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, air conditioning, etc. to specification.
• Ability to access all areas of vehicles to correctly diagnose problems and perform all repairs.
• Knowledge of engine management including, but not limited to, emission, fuel, and ignition systems.
• Working knowledge of shop equipment such as wheel and tire equipment, alignment system, diagnostic equipment, AC equipment, etc.))
• Ability to accurately identify mechanical problems using both manual and computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Provide labor and time estimates for additional automotive repairs.
• Able to explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to service advisors.
• Correctly disassemble and reassemble parts.
• Knowledge of integrated electronic systems, such as sensors.
• Capable of utilizing power tools including, but not limited to, pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding torches, and jacks and hoists. Also, able to use common hand tools such as sockets and ratchets, wrenches and pliers.
• Acceptable verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
