Continental Toyota Inc. in Hodgkins, IL is seeking a Journeyman Service Technician to join our expanding automotive service team.

You will perform repairs and maintenance following Toyota time guides and dealership standards, using diagnostic tools to identify issues and provide accurate estimates to customers. The ideal candidate has ASE certification or 5 years’ experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to learn new vehicle technologies including gas, hybrid and electric

Qualifications

• ASE certification preferred or 5 years experience with ASE certification.
• Able to diagnose and repair within automotive time table guidelines.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs work on repair orders efficiently according to dealership standards and Toyota time guides.
• Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and multi-point inspection.
• Performs advanced maintenance and repairs, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues including engine & transmission repairs.
• Communicates with the Service Advisor and provides time estimates for additional repairs.
• Executes repairs under Toyota specifications with accurate notes and photos; fix it right the first time.
• Takes manufacturer training to excel in diagnosis and repair of gas, hybrid and electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards and Toyota time guides
• Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment - complete multi-point inspection
• Performs advanced maintenance and repairs on vehicles,diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues including engine & Transmission repairs.
• Communicates directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
• Executes repairs under warranty to Toyota specifications with accurate notes and pictures keeping in mind-fix it right the first time.
• Take manufacturer training to excel in diagnosis and repair of gas, hybrid and electric vehicles

Qualifications

• Experience as an automotive technician with ASE certification or Mechanic with 5 years experience with some ASE certification
• Must be able to diagnose and repair withing automotive time table guidelines.
• Must hold a high school diploma or equivalent
• Problem solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues.
• Basic Computer skills
• Positive, friendly attitude, along with a customer service mentality
• Enjoy working in a fast paced environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with attention to detail
• Team player
• Must have a valid driver’s license- clean driving record
• Ability to learn new technology, repairs and service procedures and specifications
