Job summary

Bass Pro Shops in Altoona, IA seeks a Retail Used Firearms Outfitter to evaluate and purchase used firearms, enter them into the bound book, and ensure proper payment to customers. You will initiate 4473 forms and verify all related documents before firearm transfers.

The role emphasizes legendary customer service, compliance with ATF/state laws, and ongoing product knowledge to advise buyers effectively.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
2–4 years of experience in retail or firearms environment.
Must be 21 years of age and able to safely handle firearms.
Knowledge of firearms purchasing and market values.
Strong computer and retail system literacy.
Ability to multitask and maintain work ethic.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, appraise and purchase used firearms.
Process firearms transfers and complete forms in compliance with ATF and state laws.
Maintain visual standards and department back room.
Provide legendary customer service and assist in buying decisions.
Participate in training and stay informed on firearms products.
Local travel to purchase used firearms.
Perform opening and closing duties.
