Job summary

Norm Reeves Honda Vista is seeking a dependable Used Car Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition pre-owned vehicles. This onsite role requires smog inspections in addition to mechanical, electrical, and drivability work across various makes and models.

You will collaborate with Used Car, Service, and Parts teams to meet safety and retail standards, perform quality-control inspections, document findings, and ensure timely reconditioning so vehicles are ready for sale.

Qualifications

• Smog certification and licensing required.
• Minimum of one year of professional auto repair experience.
• Ability to diagnose and repair a range of vehicle makes/models.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced dealership.

Responsibilities

• Perform smog inspections and emissions repairs.
• Conduct mechanical and safety inspections on pre-owned vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
• Complete maintenance and reconditioning services (oil changes, brakes, tires, batteries, fluids).
• Identify repairs to meet safety/retail standards.
• Complete approved repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Perform quality-control inspections before release for sale.
• Document inspection results, diagnostic findings, and repairs.
• Coordinate with Used Car, Service, and Parts departments to move vehicles through reconditioning.
• Follow dealership procedures and safety/regulatory requirements; maintain a clean workspace.

Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Vista is seeking a dependable and experienced Used Car Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition pre-owned vehicles, all makes, all models. This position requires the ability to perform smog inspections while also completing mechanical, electrical, maintenance, and drivability repairs on various makes and models.

You will work closely with the Used Car, Service, and Parts departments to ensure every vehicle meets our dealership’s safety, quality, and retail standards.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform smog inspections and complete required emissions-related repairs.
• Conduct comprehensive mechanical and safety inspections on pre-owned vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
• Complete maintenance and reconditioning services, including oil changes, brakes, tires, batteries, and fluid services.
• Identify and clearly document repairs needed to meet dealership safety and retail standards.
• Complete approved repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Perform quality-control inspections before vehicles are released for sale.
• Accurately document inspection results, diagnostic findings, and completed repairs.
• Coordinate with the Used Car, Service, and Parts departments to keep vehicles moving through the reconditioning process.
• Follow dealership procedures and all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What You’ll Need:

• Current Smog Certification and Smog Repair License
• Minimum of one year of professional automotive repair experience
• Proven ability to diagnose and complete automotive repairs
• Experience working on various vehicle makes and models
• Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced dealership environment
