Job summary

Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Vista is seeking a dependable Used Car Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition pre-owned vehicles. This on-site role requires smog inspections and repairs across makes and models to meet safety and retail standards.

Responsibilities include comprehensive inspections, maintenance services, accurate documentation, and collaboration with Used Car, Service, and Parts teams. A valid smog certification and at least one year of experience are required.

Qualifications

• Current Smog Certification and Smog Repair License.
• Minimum of one year of professional automotive repair experience.
• Proven ability to diagnose and complete automotive repairs.
• Experience working on various vehicle makes and models.

Responsibilities

• Perform smog inspections and required emissions-related repairs.
• Conduct mechanical and safety inspections on pre-owned vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
• Complete maintenance and reconditioning services (oil changes, brakes, tires, batteries, fluids).
• Document repairs needed to meet safety and retail standards.
• Coordinate with departments to move vehicles through reconditioning.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Location: Vista, CA (Onsite) | Type: Full-time | Pay: $30/hr+ (Depending On Experience) | *MUST BE SMOG CERTIFIED*

Norm Reeves Honda Superstore Vista is seeking a dependable and experienced Used Car Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and recondition pre-owned vehicles, all makes, all models. This position requires the ability to perform smog inspections while also completing mechanical, electrical, maintenance, and drivability repairs on various makes and models.

You will work closely with the Used Car, Service, and Parts departments to ensure every vehicle meets our dealership's safety, quality, and retail standards.

What You'll Do

• Perform smog inspections and complete required emissions-related repairs.
• Conduct comprehensive mechanical and safety inspections on pre-owned vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and drivability concerns.
• Complete maintenance and reconditioning services, including oil changes, brakes, tires, batteries, and fluid services.
• Identify and clearly document repairs needed to meet dealership safety and retail standards.
• Complete approved repairs accurately and efficiently.
• Perform quality-control inspections before vehicles are released for sale.
• Accurately document inspection results, diagnostic findings, and completed repairs.
• Coordinate with the Used Car, Service, and Parts departments to keep vehicles moving through the reconditioning process.
• Follow dealership procedures and all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What You'll Need

• Current Smog Certification and Smog Repair License

• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
