Job summary

Chevrolet of Naperville is seeking a used car technician to join our team. We value performance and ethics in a non-union environment, offering a culture of teamwork. The role includes diagnosing and repairing vehicles with a focus on quality workmanship.

Full-time technicians work 4 weekdays 7 am–5 pm and Saturdays 7 am–5 pm. Must have a minimum of 3 ASE Certifications. We offer competitive wages and a strong benefits package including 401K and health insurance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 ASE Certifications preferred or in progress.
• Experience in dealership service environment is highly valued.
• Good knowledge of makes and models of automobiles.

Responsibilities

• Test systems and components to ensure proper operation.
• Isolate problems and drive vehicle for testing.
• Repair or replace worn parts to prevent breakdowns.
• Use power tools, machine tools, and hand tools as needed.
• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing and repairing vehicles.

You will

• Test to check whether systems and components are secure and working properly.


• Isolate the systems or components that might have caused the problem


• Drive the vehicle for testing purposes


• Maintain efficiency and accuracy in diagnosing as well as repairing vehicles


• Repair or replace worn parts ahead of the vehicle’s breakdown or damage


• Use power tools, machine tools, and common hand tools to perform various tasks

You have

• Good knowledge of makes and models of automobiles


• Good reading, computer, and mathematics skills


• Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications


• High School Diploma or GED


• Technical degree preferred


• ASE certifications preferred


• Minimum of 1 year experience in service department


• Ability to lift 50 pounds


• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time


• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
