Job summary

Russ Darrow Group is seeking a Used Car Technician/Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain used vehicles for sale, with a focus on safety inspections and thorough workmanship.

You will work with advanced tools and equipment to address mechanical and electrical issues while adhering to dealership standards. Prior automotive experience is preferred, and we provide ongoing training from day one.

Qualifications

• Experience in an automotive repair shop preferred, but not required.
• Must have clean & valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background screening.
• Strong teamwork and a can-do attitude.
• Automotive background expected.

Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance and repair tasks per work orders.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems to meet specs.
• Conduct test drives and use diagnostic tools to evaluate components.
• Perform safety inspections on used cars bought by the store.
• Communicate diagnoses and repairs clearly to service advisors and customers.

Summary

As a Used Car Technician/Mechanic, your role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining used vehicles to prepare them for sale, with a focus on performing thorough safety inspections. Equipped with advanced tools and equipment, you'll address mechanical and electrical issues efficiently and accurately, adhering to manufacturer and dealership standards. While prior automotive experience is preferred, formal shop experience is not required. We provide continuous training throughout your career!

Responsibilities

• Execute maintenance and repair tasks as outlined in work orders with efficiency, ensuring compliance with dealership and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning systems, to meet specifications.
• Conduct test drives and utilize diagnostic tools and specialized service equipment to evaluate vehicle components and systems.
• Perform safety inspections on used cars that were bought by the store, being as thorough as possible.
• Clearly communicate mechanical diagnoses and necessary repairs to service advisors and customers in an easy-to-understand, non-technical manner.

Qualifications

• Previous shop experience preferred, but not required.
• Automotive background.
• Teamwork skills and a can‑do attitude.
• Must have clean & valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass a drug test and background screening.
