Chapman Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Scottsdale is seeking an experienced Used Car Reconditioning Technician to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair trade-in and purchased vehicles for our pre-owned inventory. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, and experience working with a variety of makes and models.

This is a great opportunity to join a supportive team in a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled service shop.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience performing vehicle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs.
• Able to diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, electrical systems, and HVAC.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect used vehicles to identify damage, maintenance needs, and necessary repairs, accurately documenting findings.
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair automotive systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, brakes, and air conditioning.
• Identify additional services, repairs, and parts needed and communicate recommendations to the Service Manager.
• Estimate the time required to complete repairs and maintenance.
• Complete all work according to dealership standards and repair order instructions.
• Maintain thorough workmanship and follow established shop procedures.
• Work collaboratively with the service team to ensure vehicles are properly reconditioned for resale.

• ASE certifications preferred.
• Strong mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have personal tools and a toolbox.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and general computer proficiency.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet physical demands, including frequent heavy lifting, standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
