What you'll do

As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician at our retail store, you will perform routine maintenance to ensure safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, and fixtures. Reporting to the local General Maintenance Manager, you'll follow maintenance schedules, conduct inspections, and repair facilities and equipment.

Position Requirements

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders frequently and work at heights
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods
• Ability to work in various temperatures
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass MVR
• Vocational or technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience in trades such as plumbing, electrical, or related

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facilities and equipment using multiple craft skills
• Use work order system to document repairs and support store operations
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspect, operate, and test facilities and equipment to diagnose issues
• Complete training for safe operation of tools and equipment

Compensation

Hourly wage ranges from $21.00 to $39.00, based on experience and location. Additional premiums may apply based on work conditions.

Minimum Qualifications

Trade certification and 3 years' experience or 5 years' experience in trades such as plumbing, electrical, or material handling; valid driver’s license; eligible for CDL.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a 2-year vocational/technical program, trade license, proficiency in MS Office applications, and related trade licenses or certifications.
