Job summary

Walmart Global Tech in Bellevue, WA is seeking a Software Engineer III to lead design and development of scalable, secure software solutions. You will collaborate with product management and UX, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive quality through testing and maintenance.

You will guide junior engineers, contribute to continuous improvement, and help align technical work with Walmart’s business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area; 2 years' software engineering experience.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related area is preferred.

This role involves coding, testing, and maintaining software components with a focus on scalability, security, and performance. You will also provide guidance to junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, supporting business objectives through innovative and efficient software development practices.

The Customer Engagement Services Technology team develops advanced customer service solutions impacting millions worldwide. Comprising software engineers, data scientists, and machine learning experts, the team focuses on innovative Generative AI applications within complex enterprise environments. As part of Walmart Global Tech’s Enterprise Business Systems, it collaborates closely with product, business, and UX partners to deliver measurable business value. The team emphasizes scalable, secure, and maintainable software design while fostering continuous improvement and operational excellence to support Walmart’s mission of helping customers save money and live better.

What you'll do:

What you'll bring:

• Proven experience in software design, development, and delivery using object-oriented programming and iterative development methodologies.
• Strong technical acumen with expertise in API design, platform development, and component services.
• Proficiency in debugging, testing, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices.
• Ability to analyze requirements, perform root cause analysis, and develop sustainable technical solutions.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing complex projects to ensure timely delivery.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies including generative artificial intelligence and telemetry implementation.
• Skilled in documentation-based coding and maintaining quality, security, and scalability standards.

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00 - $216,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
