Role Summary

As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable software solutions that align with business objectives. The team leads Walmart’s talent acquisition technology, supporting recruitment for 2.4 million associates across all levels. They design and manage scalable software solutions that enable hiring from front‑line to executive roles. With expertise in technical solution design, project management, and process improvement, the team drives innovation and operational excellence. Collaborating cross‑functionally, they deliver reliable, efficient, and secure systems aligned with business objectives. Focused on continuous improvement, the team upholds accountability, technical excellence, and strategic impact within Walmart’s global hiring ecosystem.

What You’ll Do
  • Analyze and scope software requirements, including functional and non‑functional aspects, to align with business objectives.
  • Design scalable, maintainable software components using appropriate architecture and design patterns.
  • Develop, configure, and maintain high‑quality code adhering to coding standards and security policies.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and debugging to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Create and execute test cases to validate software functionality and identify defects.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to monitor application performance and implement continuous integration and delivery practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, ensuring timely regression testing and root cause analysis.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00 – $216,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Minimum Qualifications
  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
  • Option 2: 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year’s experience in software engineering or related area. We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
