Position Summary

Lead the Walmart/VIZIO Data Team, focusing on delivering robust data solutions that enhance operations and customer experience. Ensure alignment of data strategy with business goals, maintaining scalable, reliable, and secure data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor data engineering teams.
• Design and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and platforms.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams.
• Implement best practices in data modeling, quality, governance, and observability.
• Oversee batch and real-time data processing frameworks.
• Optimize cloud-based data infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
• Set technical direction and contribute to hands-on development as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in data engineering, with 2+ years in leadership.
• Expertise in data architecture, ETL/ELT, and platforms like Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery.
• Strong skills in Python, SQL, or Scala.
• Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt) and cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, and security.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with streaming technologies like Kafka, Spark Streaming.
• Background in high-scale, data-rich environments.
• Knowledge of ML pipelines and MLOps workflows.

The annual salary range is $121,000 - $242,000, with additional compensation through bonuses and stock options.
