Position Summary

Join the Walmart/VIZIO Team as a Senior Manager, Software Engineering - Data, where you will lead a talented group of data engineers in crafting scalable, reliable, and secure data solutions. What you'll do

• Lead and mentor a team of data engineers.
• Architect and maintain scalable, reliable, and secure data pipelines and platforms.
• Collaborate with analytics, product, and engineering teams to deliver data solutions.
• Drive best practices in data modeling, quality, governance, and observability.
• Oversee implementation of batch and real-time data processing frameworks.
• Optimize cloud-based data infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
• Set technical direction and contribute to hands-on development as needed.

What You’ll Bring

• 8+ years of experience in data engineering, with 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Expertise in data architecture, ETL/ELT, and modern data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery).
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or Scala.
• Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt) and cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and security best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with streaming data technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming).
• Prior experience in a high-scale, data-rich environment.
• Knowledge of ML pipelines and MLOps workflows.

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area, with 5 years’ experience in software engineering or related field.

Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.

Additionally, 2 years’ supervisory experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in relevant fields with 3 years' experience, or equivalent experience in the field. Knowledge of accessibility standards and creating inclusive digital experiences is valued.
