Job description

Position Summary...

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, including store community and outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating P&L statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses. Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Sets clear expectations, provides recognition, and promotes a belonging mindset in the workplace. Recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth.

Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. Supports plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, setting goals, building accountability, and measuring progress. Identifies and addresses improvement opportunities, demonstrating adaptability and promoting continuous learning.

Ensures compliance with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and supporting the Open Door Policy. Builds high-performing teams, embraces diversity, and creates a workplace where associates feel supported and connected. Attracts, retains, and develops talent, recognizing contributions and accomplishments.

Acts with integrity by maintaining high standards of ethics and compliance, supporting Walmart’s culture, and making a positive impact through initiatives like creating a sense of belonging, eliminating waste, and engaging in local giving.

Delivers results by prioritizing customer needs, making data-driven decisions, and balancing short and long-term goals. Encourages continuous improvement, supports change, and adopts new technologies and skills.

The hourly wage range for this position is $33.18-$36.06 plus differential, with additional bonuses and potential regional pay based on location.

Minimum Qualifications...

Two years of college; OR one year of retail experience and one year of supervisory experience; OR two years of general work experience and one year of supervisory experience. For firearms-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Facilities selling only ammunition and with state-specific requirements may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.

Preferred Qualifications...

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, and experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
