Job description

Position Summary

This role involves leading and developing teams by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Responsibilities include communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. The role also includes introducing and leading change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance, and implementing business solutions. Demonstrating exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, managing customer service initiatives, resolving customer needs and complaints, and developing action plans to improve processes are essential. The position drives financial performance by reviewing profit and loss statements, managing budgets, forecasts, expenses, and ensuring effective merchandise presentation, inventory flow, and operational processes. It also involves supervising and developing hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and recognizing performance, fostering a culture of belonging, and recruiting qualified staff. Building relationships with stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, and promoting continuous learning and improvement are key. Ensuring compliance with policies, supporting ethical standards, and maintaining a high standard of integrity are mandatory. The role emphasizes respect for individuals, building high-performing teams, embracing diversity, and creating an inclusive workplace. Acting with integrity, serving customers, striving for excellence, and supporting Walmart’s mission and values are core. The hourly wage range is $31.25-$38.46 plus differential, with additional performance-based bonuses and possible regional pay adjustments.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of college; OR one year of retail experience and one year of supervisory experience; OR two years of general work experience and one year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Facilities selling only ammunition and with state-specific requirements may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, and experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
