AppDirect is seeking a meticulous payroll and benefits professional to own the employee experience behind the scenes. You will manage end-to-end payroll across multiple US entities and administer comprehensive benefits programs with accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in US payroll processing and benefits administration.
• Experience in a multi-state, multi-entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and 401(k).
• Proficiency with HRIS and payroll platforms (ADP/Paylocity/Gusto/Rippling or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data reconciliation).

Responsibilities

• Process and manage end-to-end payroll for multiple US-based entities, including regular, off-cycle, and ad hoc payroll runs.
• Manage multi-state payroll tax registrations, filings, and compliance; including SUI and SIT accounts.
• Lead year-end payroll activities including W-2 preparation, reconciliation, and distribution.
• Administer all US employee benefit programs across multiple companies.
• Lead annual open enrollment planning, communication, execution, and post-enrollment reconciliation.
• Administer and track employee leaves of absence in compliance with FMLA, ADA, state laws, and company policies.
• Ensure ACA, EEO-1, and other regulatory filings; generate payroll and benefits reports for audits.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, and People Operations on compensation, benefits, and compliance.
