Job summary

AppDirect, Inc. is seeking a meticulous payroll and benefits professional to own the employee experience behind the scenes across multiple US entities.

You will oversee end-to-end payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality while navigating multi-state compliance and complex LOA cases. You will partner with HR, Finance, and vendors to optimize processes, improve automation, and deliver a seamless employee journey from enrollment to offboarding.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands-on US payroll processing and benefits administration in a multi-state, multi-entity environment.
• Strong working knowledge of federal/state payroll tax regulations and benefits compliance (ERISA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, 401(k)).
• Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms such as ADP, Paylocity, Gusto, Rippling, or similar.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets (VLOOKUPs, pivots, reconciliation).
• Ability to handle sensitive data with discretion and integrity; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Full-cycle payroll administration for multiple US-based entities, including off-cycle and ad hoc runs.
• Full-cycle benefits administration across plans (medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, 401(k)).
• LOA management compliant with FMLA and state laws; manage return-to-work coordination.
• Compliance & reporting including ACA, EEO-1, and state requirements; support audits and due diligence.
• Process improvement and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Legal, and People Ops.
