Kingsley Green Recruitment group is seeking a Senior Litigation Counsel for a global fintech client in New York to join the US legal team and manage government investigations, regulatory matters and litigation risk as the business scales.

The role blends strategic oversight with hands-on work, including fact gathering, coordinating with outside counsel, and drafting responses to regulators. You will interact with US regulators and operate in a matrix organization.

Qualifications

• Currently practicing as a senior litigator in the US with hands-on experience in government investigations and regulatory work
• Trained at a top law firm, having since moved in-house; critical in-house experience is a must
• Comfortable navigating a matrix environment, with the judgment to work independently and the credibility to influence across teams
• A pragmatic, transactional operator who gets things done
• Experience in a smaller, leaner legal team is a strong plus in fintech or banking
• Consumer-facing litigation experience is valuable and regulator exposure is a fit

We are looking for a Senior Litigation Counsel to join the US legal team, covering government investigations, regulatory matters and litigation risk with real exposure to new and evolving areas of law as the business scales.

The role blends strategic oversight with genuine hands‑on work: significant fact‑gathering, instructing outside counsel, digging into complex issues to find answers, and narrating clear, well‑reasoned responses to regulators and government bodies. You'll work closely with regulators and government agencies as a trusted, credible point of contact for the business.

What You’ll Do

• Lead detailed fact‑gathering and investigation work, reviewing briefs and materials in depth
• Instruct and manage outside counsel where needed
• Draft and narrate clear, well‑substantiated responses to regulators and government bodies
• Work closely and collaboratively with US regulators as the business grows
• Operate independently while navigating a complex, matrix‑structured organization
• Take on significant accountability, balancing strategic thinking with pragmatic, "get it done" execution

What We’re Looking For

• Currently practicing as a senior litigator in the US, with hands‑on experience in government investigations and regulatory work
• Trained at a top law firm, having since moved in-house critical in‑house experience is a must
• Comfortable navigating a matrix environment, with the judgment to work independently and the credibility to influence across teams
• A pragmatic, transactional operator someone who gets things done, not just someone who advises from the sidelines
• Experience within a smaller, leaner legal team (e.g. a smaller bank or fintech) is a strong plus used to being agile, resourceful, and finding answers without extensive support
• Consumer‑facing litigation experience would be extremely valuable
• Candidates from a regulator, or from a consumer‑facing financial organization with regulatory exposure, are also a strong fit
