Job summary

Legal.io is seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to manage a broad portfolio of disputes across multiple jurisdictions. You will work with business stakeholders and outside counsel to shape strategy, assess risk, and push matters toward resolution.

The role requires a J.D. and active U.S. bar license, 8+ years of litigation experience, and proven ability to handle complex discovery and budget management in a global tech environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active U.S. bar license are required.
• 8+ years of litigation experience in law firm or in-house settings.
• Experience handling multiple litigation matters and managing discovery and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse portfolio of litigation matters across commercial, employment, privacy, and other civil disputes.
• Partner with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to develop litigation strategy and assess risk.
• Lead factual investigations, discovery efforts, legal holds, and evidence collection activities.
• Oversee outside counsel, litigation budgets, and case management across multiple jurisdictions.
• Support settlement evaluations, mediation efforts, regulatory inquiries, and government investigations.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, compliance, privacy, finance, procurement, and security teams.
• Identify litigation trends and help improve litigation management processes and reporting.

Our client, a leading global technology company, is seeking an experienced Litigation Counsel to support a broad portfolio of litigation matters across multiple jurisdictions. This attorney will work closely with business stakeholders and outside counsel to manage active disputes, develop litigation strategy, assess risk, and drive matters toward resolution.

What You'll Do

• Manage a diverse portfolio of litigation matters, including commercial, employment, personal injury, privacy, regulatory, and other civil disputes
• Partner with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to develop litigation strategy and assess risk
• Lead factual investigations, discovery efforts, legal holds, and evidence collection activities
• Oversee outside counsel, litigation budgets, and case management across multiple jurisdictions
• Support settlement evaluations, mediation efforts, regulatory inquiries, and government investigations
• Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, compliance, privacy, finance, procurement, security, and business teams
• Identify litigation trends and help improve litigation management processes and reporting

What We're Looking For

• J.D. and active U.S. bar license
• 8+ years of litigation experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or both
• Experience handling at least two of the following: commercial litigation, employment litigation, personal injury matters, environmental litigation, privacy/data disputes, or other civil litigation matters
• Strong discovery, investigations, and case management experience
• Experience managing outside counsel and litigation budgets
