Job summary

Blykalla is seeking an Engineering Director to build and lead the US engineering team and execute the reference design in the US program. You will report to the VP of Engineering and collaborate with the R&D organization to preserve design intent while enabling practical execution in the US.

The role emphasizes US regulatory alignment, licensing input with DOE, and establishing interfaces with INL and partners, aiming for first criticality in 2027 and full power later.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering experience from highly regulated industries (e.g., oil & gas, nuclear).
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience working across organizations and geographies.
• Strong understanding of engineering execution in complex projects.
• Relevant engineering degree.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to operate in a build-phase organization.
• US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Own the US engineering execution to deliver Blykalla’s reference design in the US program.
• Build and lead the US engineering team across key disciplines.
• Interface with the R&D organization; manage design intent and change control.
• Provide engineering input to the DOE Authorization process (NSDA, PDSA, DSA).
• Own engineering interfaces with INL, Oklo, and US partners.
• Align engineering outputs with US codes and QA expectations.
