Intrepid Travel is seeking an experienced General Manager, DMC USA to lead our Destination Management Company across Intrepid, Wildland Trekking, and Urban Adventures in the United States. This onsite role is based in Golden, Colorado, requiring five days in the office.

The successful candidate will report to the President, Americas and build a high-performing leadership team while driving growth, profitability, and brand positioning across national parks from coast to coast.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of managing ground operations in the United States, including national parks, wilderness, and multi-day active products.
• Strong knowledge of the U.S. adventure and experiential travel market, key destinations, and trade partners.
• Minimum of senior management experience; company or country management experience preferred.
• Proven senior leadership experience with direct accountability for a multidisciplinary team, including leading leaders (managers of managers).
• Demonstrated ability to set a clear vision and direction, translate strategy into team priorities, and hold people accountable for outcomes.
• High level of financial literacy and proven commercial and strategic decision-making skills.
• Proven understanding of risk and incident management in outdoor and remote environments.
• Working knowledge of U.S. tourism regulations, including federal land agency permitting (NPS Commercial Use Authorizations, USFS and BLM special use permits), state seller-of-travel registrations, and federal and state employment law.
• Experience integrating acquired businesses, brands, and teams is highly regarded.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience in tourism or an operations-, sales-, or customer-focused industry.

• Develop new business, drive sales growth, and ensure profitability across the DMC USA.
• Deliver high-quality products to partners and manage a high-performing leadership team.
• Lead across operations, finance, contracting, reservations, and field teams with a focus on people leadership.
• Collaborate with global teams and the President, Americas to achieve strategic goals.
