Job summary

Meritus Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for our Urology practice in Hagerstown, MD. This full-time, on-site role supports in-office procedures, maintains sterile technique, and assists with minor surgeries under RN supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program required.
• Experience in ambulatory or outpatient clinical setting preferred.
• Previous urology or procedure-based specialty preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments, supplies, and equipment for in-office urologic procedures (e.g., cystoscopy, vasectomy, catheter placements).
• Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper handling, cleaning, and processing of instruments.
• Anticipate provider needs during procedures and respond proactively to support safe, efficient care.
• Prepare patients for procedures, provide clear instructions, and support comfort and dignity throughout the visit.
• Assist with room turnover, supply management, equipment checks, and readiness of procedure spaces.
• Communicate effectively with providers, RNs, and clinic staff; report equipment concerns promptly.
• Uphold infection-prevention standards, privacy requirements, and Meritus Health values.
