Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Urology Nurse Practitioner to provide advanced nursing care for urologic conditions in a collaborative, multidisciplinary setting. The NP will evaluate, diagnose, manage, and follow up on medical and surgical treatments, while educating patients and coordinating care with surgeons and specialists.

The role involves direct patient care, preop and postop support, and documentation in EMR.

Qualifications

Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in each state of practice.
National board certification as a Family (NP-C) or (FNP-BC).
DEA permit to prescribe controlled substances in each state of practice.

Responsibilities

Conduct detailed histories and physicals focused on urologic conditions.
Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (urinalysis, ultrasound, CT, cystoscopy, labs).
Manage acute and chronic urologic issues; provide postoperative care.
Educate patients on diagnosis, treatment options, medications, and lifestyle changes.
Perform minor procedures within scope (catheterization, bladder scans).
Document encounters and treatment plans in EMR.
Collaborate with urologists, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists.
