Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and clinicians in a fast-paced New Jersey clinic. You will greet patients, schedule tests, collect payments, and document vitals and medications in the EHR. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities include assisting with patient care, preparing exam rooms, managing orders, and ensuring timely pre-authorizations. Certification and BLS within required timelines are mandatory.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s/Associate degree preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification required; must obtain MA certification within 4 months of introductory period.
• Must obtain BLS within 60 days of hire.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians, APN/PA with patient care, flow, procedures and clerical duties.
• Greet patients and schedule appointments and tests efficiently.
• Collect payments and issue receipts; post payments to accounts.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist during visits as needed.
• Enter orders and manage lab specimens and vital signs.
• Document in EHR and coordinate with staff for pre-authorizations.
