Job summary

VillageMD in New Jersey is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians, PAs or NPs with clinical and clerical duties, patient flow and procedures in a fast-paced care setting. You will prepare the exam rooms, escort patients, collect vitals and document in the EHR.

This role requires excellent communication, ability to multitask, and flexibility to travel to satellite offices as needed. You will help maintain stock, assist with referrals and ensure patient-centered, high-quality care

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program, required.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required.
• 2-4 years related work experience, preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.
• Ability to organize and perform multiple tasks in a timely manner, required.
• Basic proficiency in computer use, required.
• Travel: Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room.
• Escorts patient into the room.
• Cleans examination room when exam is complete.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Documents appropriately in EHR.
• Reviews and updates medication list and allergies in EHR.
• Assists with referrals and/or consult orders.
• Provides scribing services when needed.
