Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Long Island in Bethpage is seeking a Medical Assistant - Urology to support physicians and nurses in providing compassionate, safe patient care. You will perform essential tasks to maintain patient flow, take vitals, and assist with procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program or 2 years MA experience.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians and nurses in patient care tasks.
• Maintains patient flow and escorts patients between areas.
• Obtains vital signs, weights, and EKGs; assists with phlebotomy as needed.
• Ensures charts are available with lab results for physician review.
• Prepares exam rooms and treatment areas; performs light housekeeping as needed.
• Facilitates patient charges processing according to policy.
• Stock and organize medical supplies and chart forms.
• Assists with training of new Medical Assistants; may perform administrative duties.
