Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program or 2 years Medical Assistant experience.
• Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• BLS preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of EPIC Ambulatory preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Assists with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas; escorts patients.
• Obtain vital signs, weights and EKG; assist with phlebotomy; ensure chart is available for physician; assist with procedures.
• Ensure exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient; assist with light housekeeping; aid with feeding, toileting and ambulation.
• Assures completion of patient charges as per policy.
• Clean and sterilize equipment; answer telephone; schedule treatments; assist with prescription renewals.
• Stock exam/treatment rooms with supplies; assist training of new Medical Assistants; may perform administrative responsibilities.
