Job summary
Priority Pet Urgent Care in Happy Valley, OR is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our brand new state-of-the-art clinic, open Thursday–Monday from 3 pm–11 pm. We offer a supportive environment with growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits.
Responsibilities include pet restraint, triage, lab sample handling, radiography, nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases, medication administration, and effective client communication. Evening and weekend shifts are required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience as a veterinary assistant.
- Ability to restrain pets properly.
- Evening and weekend shift availability required.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Restrain pets and triage incoming patients.
- Collect and analyze lab samples.
- Perform diagnostic imaging and anesthesia monitoring.
- Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
- Prepare for surgery and assist with procedures.
- Communicate treatment plans effectively with clients.
