Priority Pet Urgent Care in Ankeny, IA is hiring a veterinary technician for a state-of-the-art urgent care hospital opening in late December 2026. Responsibilities include animal restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, nursing care, medications, surgical prep, and anesthesia monitoring.

Must communicate treatment plans clearly and maintain high welfare standards. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of professional experience; CVT is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary technician experience preferred.
• CVT certification is highly preferred for this role.
• Excellent client communication and medical record management skills.

Responsibilities

• Animal restraint and triage of incoming patients.
• Collection and analysis of lab samples and diagnostic imaging.
• Nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability; administration of medications.
• Surgical preparation and assistance; anesthetic monitoring.
• Effective communication of treatment plans with clients; ensure safety and welfare.
