Job summary

Priority Pet Urgent Care in Wildwood, FL, is seeking a veterinary technician to join our new state-of-the-art clinic. You will perform triage, lab analysis, radiography, anesthesia administration, and nursing care for medical and hospitalized patients while communicating treatment plans to clients.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of experience, strong client communication skills, and a commitment to animal welfare in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years veterinary technician experience preferred but not required.
  • Certified Veterinary Technician with FL license preferred but not required.
  • Punctuality and reliability in scheduled shifts.
  • Weekend shifts required.
  • Excellent client communication and medical record management.
  • Knowledge of veterinary procedures, preventative care, and hospital operations.
  • Expertise in safe, low-stress animal restraint techniques.
  • Proficiency in sample collection methods (blood, urine, fecal, skin).
  • Experience in radiographic positioning and image capture.
  • Experience in anesthesia administration and surgical monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Restrain pets safely and triage incoming patients.
  • Collect and analyze lab samples; perform diagnostic imaging as needed.
  • Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases; monitor stability.
  • Administer medications and communicate treatment plans to clients.
  • Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
  • Duties performed with attention to safety and professional ethics.
