Job summary

Alliance Animal Health is opening a new Priority Pet Urgent Care in Clayton, offering urgent pet care 7 days a week from 4pm to 12am. We are hiring compassionate, experienced veterinarians and support staff to provide high-quality medicine and service to the community.

The Veterinary Assistant role requires at least 1 year of experience, ability to restrain animals, and a calm, team-oriented approach. Training will be provided; generous benefits and opportunities for professional growth are

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as Veterinary Assistant (required).
• Must be able to properly restrain pets.
• Compassionate and calm team player.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs; anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Restrain and triage incoming patients.
• Collect and analyze lab samples.
• Perform diagnostic imaging.
• Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
• Administer medications and communicate treatment plans with clients.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.

Job description

Pet accidents, illnesses, and injuries are all unfortunate and seem to always happen at the worst of times when primary care veterinarians are either closed or too busy to see the pet. For these reasons, we are excited to announce that our newPriority Pet Urgent Care of Clayton is now open!

We are available for urgent care pet needs 7 days a week from 4pm – 12pm. We’re looking to hire the most compassionate, experienced, and qualified Veterinarians and support staff, to ensure the highest quality of medicine is provided. Our new building and state of the art equipment will provide our teams the space and tools they’ll need to deliver the best in service and medicine for our community!

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

Pet restraint, triage incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

Qualifications
