Priority Pet Urgent Care in Ankeny, IA is hiring a veterinary technician for a state-of-the-art urgent care hospital opening in late December 2026. Responsibilities include animal restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, nursing care, medications, surgical prep, and anesthesia monitoring.
Must communicate treatment plans clearly and maintain high welfare standards. Ideal candidates have 2+ years of professional experience; CVT is highly preferred.

Open daily from 3pm - 12 midnight, Priority Pet Urgent Care is designed to provide convenient, high-quality care for pets with urgent medical needs while creating an exceptional experience for clients and team members.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:
Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
Must be able to withstand unpleasant odors and noises. May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.
