Job summary

UCHealth urgently seeks a part-time clinical professional to provide emergent/urgent patient care under physician and nursing supervision at the UCHealth UCHlth Firestone UrgentCare site in Colorado. The role supports fast-paced throughput and requires BLS certification and IV proficiency within 6 months.

You will assist with exams, venipuncture, catheterization, and patient prep while maintaining rooms and coordinating care to ensure timely patient flow.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required; CPR card valid through 60 days after hire.
• IV proficiency within 6 months as per department guidelines.
• Credentials: CMA, RMA, EMT (state licensure) or Paramedic; military medic training accepted.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient flow in the department to optimize throughput and inform patients of delays.
• Observe patients and notify the provider or RN immediately if distress is detected.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist before, during, and after the examination.
• Inserts Foley catheters, performs complex splinting, and venipuncture for blood draw or IV access.
• Maintain exam and treatment rooms and equipment; restock supplies as directed.
• Within scope of job, demonstrate critical thinking, decisive judgment and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.
