Job summary

Memorial Health System in Illinois is seeking a patient care support role within Urgent Care areas to assist in delivering care under supervision of a nurse or physician. Responsibilities include room preparation, equipment checks, patient transport and accurate documentation.

The ideal candidate will have a GED or high school diploma, EMT or CNA certification or enrollment in related programs, and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• GED or High School graduate.
• EMT certification or National Registry EMT (NREMT) certification
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification
• Enrollment in a nursing school program
• Enrollment in PreMed with Biology or Chemistry major
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Check, clean and stock rooms with supplies and linens in preparation for daily work schedule.
• Perform equipment checks and report all malfunctions to Biomed per MHS policy.
• Maintain a clean, organized and therapeutic environment.
• Utilize supplies in a cost effective manner.
• Demonstrate positive guest relations with patients, physicians and staff.
• Document appropriate tasks and follow unit documentation requirements.
• Follow GPE initiatives directed by MPS/EC and attend mandatory in-services.
• Complete all required unit-specific training programs.
• Provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse or Licensed Physician.
• Assist in admission of patients and preparation for examinations, including vital signs.
• Assist in patient preparation for examinations and procedures while maintaining privacy.
• Assist in executing Physician orders and communicating with patients and families.
