Job summary

Coastal Urgent Care Clinics in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a growing urgent care and occupational medicine team. You will provide outpatient care, perform procedures, and coordinate referrals in a patient‑centered, team‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PA or NP license in the state or the ability to obtain.
• Ability to obtain DOT certification within 60 days of hire and DEA licensure.
• Knowledge of treatment and drug interactions; strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care in an urgent care setting, including procedures.
• Deliver care, treatment, and referrals as needed.
• Coordinate referral resources for specialties not provided in-house.
• Evaluate patients and establish diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Perform clinical procedures within scope and competency.
• Educate patients about diagnoses and goals; document thoroughly in EMR.
• Support occupational and telemedicine patient care as needed.
• Handle non-patient facing duties like lab and x-ray review.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care on an outpatient basis to include procedures normally performed in an urgent care setting
• Responsible for the delivery of care, treatment, and referrals.
• Arrange for referral resources for those medical specialties not provided by the organization for patients of the clinic
• Evaluate patients to determine the medical condition of the patient, through the performance of physical examinations, thereby, establishing a diagnosis and proposed treatment plan
• Perform such clinical procedures for patient's benefit which are within scope and skill of practitioner
• Communicate information to patients regarding diagnosis and treatment goals
• Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation with a focus on proper level coding and clinical documentation integrity (CDI) in the electronic medical record
• Ability to perform occupational and telemedicine patient care
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as lab and x-ray review
• Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Medical Director

Compensation:
