Coastal Clinics in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care and occupational medicine team. You will provide outpatient care in a fast-paced setting, perform procedures, and coordinate referrals while delivering patient-centered care.

The role requires NP or PA licensure in the state, DOT within 60 days, and DEA licensure. We offer strong compensation, malpractice coverage, CME support, PTO, 401(k) with match, and comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP or PA license in the state or the ability to obtain one.
• DOT certification within 60 days of hire.
• DEA licensure.
• Knowledge of treatment and drug interactions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient patient care in an urgent care setting.
• Deliver care, treatment, and referrals as needed.
• Arrange referral resources for non-provided specialties.
• Evaluate patients and establish diagnosis and treatment plans.
• Perform clinical procedures within scope and skill.
• Communicate diagnosis and treatment goals to patients.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR with CDI focus.
• Support occupational and telemedicine patient care.
• Review lab and x-ray results as part of duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Medical Director.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care on an outpatient basis to include procedures normally performed in an urgent care setting
• Responsible for the delivery of care, treatment, and referrals.
• Arrange for referral resources for those medical specialties not provided by the organization for patients of the clinic
• Evaluate patients to determine the medical condition of the patient, through the performance of physical examinations, thereby, establishing a diagnosis and proposed treatment plan
• Perform such clinical procedures for patient's benefit which are within scope and skill of practitioner
• Communicate information to patients regarding diagnosis and treatment goals
• Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation with a focus on proper level coding and clinical documentation integrity (CDI) in the electronic medical record
• Ability to perform occupational and telemedicine patient care
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as lab and x-ray review
• Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Medical Director

What’s Required:

Compensation:

Pay is based on experience, skills and falls within an established range.
