Coastal Clinics, part of Community Care Partners, seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our urgent care and occupational medicine team in Baton Rouge, LA. Practice medicine with purpose in a well-established network that puts people first.

Qualifications

• Active PA or NP license in the state or eligibility to obtain.
• Ability to obtain DOT certification within 60 days of hire.
• DEA licensure or ability to obtain.
• Knowledge of treatment and drug interactions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient care in an urgent care setting.
• Deliver care, treatment, and referrals as needed.
• Arrange referrals for non-provided specialties for patients.
• Evaluate patients to establish diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Perform procedures within scope and skill of the practitioner.
• Document accurately in the EMR with proper coding.
• Provide occupational and telemedicine patient care.
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as lab and x-ray review.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care on an outpatient basis to include procedures normally performed in an urgent care setting
• Responsible for the delivery of care, treatment, and referrals.
• Arrange for referral resources for those medical specialties not provided by the organization for patients of the clinic
• Evaluate patients to determine the medical condition of the patient, through the performance of physical examinations, thereby, establishing a diagnosis and proposed treatment plan
• Perform such clinical procedures for patient's benefit which are within scope and skill of practitioner
• Communicate information to patients regarding diagnosis and treatment goals
• Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation with a focus on proper level coding and clinical documentation integrity (CDI) in the electronic medical record
• Ability to perform occupational and telemedicine patient care
• Perform non-patient facing duties such as lab and x-ray review
• Perform other job-related duties as may be assigned by the Medical Director

What’s Required:

• Current, unrestricted PA or NP license in thestateor the ability to obtain
• Ability to obtain:
  • DOT certification within60 daysof hire

• Knowledge of treatment and drug interactions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation:

Pay is based on experience, skills and falls within an established range.
