Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Harrisonburg, VA is seeking a Patient Services Representative for the Urgent Care department. You will be the main contact for patients, handle referrals, registration, demographics, insurance, and medical records, and support scheduling and transcription of orders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates Degree in Healthcare or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures is required.
• Medical office software experience is required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and ICD-9/CPT coding preferred.
• Prior medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community with professional service.
• Process admission paperwork and basic insurance verification.
• Answer internal and external calls in a friendly manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
• Inform Supervisor of department/patient issues.
• Coordinate bed placement needs for timely patient admissions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
