Job summary

WellNow Urgent Care is seeking a Patient Care Technician to join our team. You will obtain patient histories, take vital signs, and perform phlebotomy when certified, while documenting lab orders and maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.

The role supports providers, assists with exams and testing, and helps ensure smooth patient flow through busy clinics. A High School Diploma or GED is required with 6+ months in a similar role. A proactive, detail-oriented teammate is ideal.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EMT Basic certification preferred; Medical Assistant certifications may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy for lab samples if certified.
• Complete lab paperwork and data entry for tests.
• Perform point-of-care testing (e.g., strep, influenza, glucose, urinalysis).
• Assist providers with exams and testing and maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Ensure equipment and exam rooms are maintained and stocked.
