Job summary

WellNow Urgent Care seeks a Patient Care Technician to support urgent care operations, taking histories, obtaining vital signs, and assisting with examinations. The role includes phlebotomy where certified, and accurate lab documentation within the EMR system.

Responsibilities emphasize patient flow, record coordination, and adherence to HIPAA while providing compassionate care. Prior Urgent Care or phlebotomy exposure is preferred; CPR certification is required to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role.
• Preferred Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy experience.
• Ability to operate EMR and register patients efficiently.
• CPR certification required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and obtain vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy if certified.
• Complete lab paperwork and orders for tests.
• Perform point-of-care testing (strep, influenza, glucose, etc.).
• Schedule and coordinate records for ancillary care.
• Assist providers with exams and testing.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and stocked.
• Document patient history, examination findings, and procedures.
