Job summary

Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners for urgent care coverage. Providers will diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of acute conditions for adults and children, with support from a physician as needed.

Per Diem hourly rate is $90 and candidates must be available two days in every 28 days, including one weekend shift. Email [e-mail] for inquiries.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree required for Physician Assistants; Master's degree required for Nurse Practitioners.
• National Certification and active state medical licensure required.
• Experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients in urgent care setting.
• Take patient histories and perform physical assessments.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays.
• Make diagnoses and prescribe medications.
• Educate patients and provide counseling; coordinate care as needed.

Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Per Diem Hourly Rate: $90Per Diem employes must be available to work 2 days in every 28 days block including 1 weekend shift. 3 days of availability to be provided.Job RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree required for Physician AssistantsMaster's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersWork ExperienceOne (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required.Required Licenses/CertificationsNational CertificationActive state medical licensureAdditional Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWork experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferredApplicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required.Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities PreferredKnowledge and experience with Electronic Medical RecordsAbility to be attentive with strong listening skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsEssential FunctionsEssential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives.
