Job summary

Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners with urgent care, ER, or high-acute family medicine experience to join our CT region team. Per diem shifts are available, typically 8–12 hours, with a $90 per hour rate.

Candidates must have a medical degree, national certification, and active CT licensure. Responsibilities include examining and treating patients, ordering tests, diagnosing conditions, and educating patients while

Responsibilities

• Examining and treating patients.
• Taking patients’ medical histories.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and X-rays.
• Making diagnoses and prescribing medications.
• Treating minor injuries that may require sutures, splints, or casting.
• Recording progress notes for follow-up patients.
• Educating and counseling patients.
• Ordering and/or carrying out therapy with patients.
• Giving vaccinations, and referring patients to additional care.

Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Per Diem Hourly Rate: $90Per Diem employes must be available to work 3 days in every 28 days block including 1 weekend shift.Job RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree required for Physician AssistantsMaster's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersWork ExperienceOne (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required.Required Licenses/CertificationsNational CertificationActive state medical licensureAdditional Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWork experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferredApplicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required.Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities PreferredKnowledge and experience with Electronic Medical RecordsAbility to be attentive with strong listening skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsEssential FunctionsEssential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives.
