Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner for an urgent care setting, working part-time as a float PRN position. The role requires collaboration with medical staff and management across clinics to provide timely care.

The candidate must hold an MSN, Virginia RN license or eligibility, plus a PA/NP license and CPR certification. A minimum of two years in urgent care or ER is preferred, with strong leadership and teamwork emphasized.

Qualifications

• MSN required; Virginia RN license or eligible.
• Master of Science in Nursing and PA studies master’s degree.
• Virginia license or eligible for NP/PA.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• Two+ years experience in Urgent Care or ER preferred.
• Strong teamwork and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Treats minor acute illnesses, performs patient exams and initial assessments.
• Order/interpret diagnostic tests (X-ray, ECG, labs).
• Administers injections, sutures, wound care, immunizations.
• Counsels patients on regimens and wellness.
• Develops patient management plans and maintains continuity of care.
• Prescribes medications and refers to specialists as needed.
• Coordinates services across departments; supports staff as needed.
