Job summary

NextCare is seeking a Full-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Phoenix, AZ to join our urgent care team. This role offers variety, autonomy, and meaningful community impact in a fast-paced, well-supported environment.

You’ll work three 12-hour shifts per week within clinic hours 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, seven days a week, with no after-hours tasks. The team provides guided mentorship, clear practice guidelines, and a schedule released in advance to promote work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted AZ license for NP or PA
• Board certification or eligibility; PA NCCPA or NP ANCC/AANP (FNP required)
• Active DEA license (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to treat patients of all ages
• Active BLS certification
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
• DOT certification required or willingness to obtain (fees covered)

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients of all ages in an urgent care setting
• Manage acute illnesses, injuries, and occupational health visits
• Order and interpret diagnostic studies, including labs and imaging
• Perform urgent care procedures such as suturing and wound management
• Clearly communicate diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the EHR
• Code and bill services appropriately
• Maintain productivity consistent with urgent care benchmarks
• Practice in alignment with NextCare clinical standards and values
